Well done to young David Kilrehill who won top prize in the Strand Celtic christmas draw on sunday night. David is the younger brother of our under 14 player, John Kilrehill.

David won first prize which is a weekend away in the Glassen Hotel and Country club. The prize includes bed and breakfast, golf and evening meal at this superb four star facility that has hosted the european tour.

Sincere thanks to all who supported the draw.

Our under ten squads blitz was held on Sunday last, 14th December. The teams involved were Merville, Ballisodare and CLiffoney-Grange with a 2pm kick off in the showgrounds. Well done to all the players involved on making the day a great success.

The club was represented at a recent meeting with Sligo County Council Officials and our local councilors. The meeting was organised by strandhill Development Association in conjunction with the maritime centre, strandhill community park, strand celtic and strandhill community development sub-committee.

Well it finally arrived – the big day for all the young children in the knocknarea penisula !. Our annual Christmas bazaar was on Sunday last December 7th at strandhill national school.

There was silent hush as the last draw was made in Bree’s bar on Thursday night last for the Strand Celtic 400 club draw. Top prize on the night went to James Glynn from ransboro.

Republic of Ireland 0 -2 Holland

The Republic of Ireland Under-17 Women’s may still go through to the Elite phase of qualification series despite their loss to Holland on Thursday in their final game of the UEFA Championship qualifying first stage. Bronagh Kerins again starred and had what looked like a good goal disallowed.

The club is very grateful to the Strandhill Warriors Festival committee for their recent donation to the development of our grounds at Strandhill Community Park.

Our club crest is currently being given an overhaul and modernisation. It will still feature our famous Strandhill canon. The sample crests are available on our club website for comment!. It is intended that all our Colts gear for this season will feature the new crest.
