Local restaurant The Bella Vista have signed up as a TEAM sponsor for our girls under 16 squad. Owners Mark and Connie Ballintine signed up this week and a photocall will be organised in the coming weeks.

Our Colts section will have their registration day on saturday 5th September at 2pm in Strandhill School.

In a cracking match strand celtic opened their league campaign with a victory over a gallant real tubber side. Despite the scoreline this was always a tight game and it was only in the latter stages that strand managed to secure victory.

Our under 16 squad kicked off the new season with a fine victory over Calry Bohemians on Saturday morning last on a scoreline of four goals to nil. This was a good start to the season for manager Michael McDonagh and Jimmy Colreavy.

Hazelwood Park

Our under 12 squad turned in a fine performance in going down one nil to Calry Bohemians in hazelwood on saturday afternoon last. It was a busy morning as this game followed an under 16 game between the same two sides !.

The club hosted a community evening on Friday night last as a thank you for everyone’s efforts towards our development plan. The evening was an outstanding success with a great atmosphere and a great turnout by all our coaches, managers and committe members.

Broangh Kerins turned in another fine performance for the republic of Ireland girls under 17 team in poland yesterday in Irelands narrow 1-0 defeat to Russia. Bornagh played the full game for the second game in a row, which is a significant achievement as manager Noel King made several changes during both games.

Irelands last game is against Italy on saturday at 11am local time.

Our annual golf classic was held on friday 22nd of august and was an outstanding success.

The golf course was in fantastic condition and with the sun shining we could not have wished for a better day. The tee was booked from 11am until 5pm and was busy all day with the later sessions being particularly busy. Despite this people got round the course easily easily and the humour was good throughout the day.

Our under 16 captain made her intrnational debut for the Republic of Ireland girls under 17 side in Poland in a triangular tournament this week. Well done to Bronagh and all her family on playing for her country.

Our senior team had a good, but hard earned, victory over Sligo Rovers A squad at Strandhill Community Park tonight. Manager Mick Mooney will be happy with the commitment and form pre-season and must be looking forward to sundays initial game.
