BARRY O MAHONEY WINS IRELAND SCHOOLBOYS CAP
Well done to local lad Barry O Mahoney who came on for Ireland Schoolboys against Wales in the Carengie shield on Thursday evening last. Barry started out with Strand Celtic before joining Belvedere in Dublin and has since played for the Sligo Rovers first team. Barry is still at summerhill college and plays with the school senior team. It is a great honor for Barry and his family and richly deserved for a very talented player. Ireland play Scotland in Finn Park on good Friday and finish off with a televised game against England on Sky Sports later in the month. It is fantastic for Sligo-Leitrim to get a player capped at that level, particularly when you consider the number of schools and players around the country.
