It was second time lucky for Strand Celtic green team as they played and beat a strong merville side in a friendly on Sunday afternoon last.

This was both teams second outing in a week and there were some good displays for both sides. This weeks victory was built on a solid defensive formation of Jamie Gillen and Ronan McCormack with a strong second half display from the midfield formation of Joyce, McCallion, Nicolson and the energetic Dylan Conway. Man of the match was Luke Nicolson whose pace and guile continually threatened. For merville Peter Kelly turned in another solid display in goals with some good stops while Feeney was all overt the pitch in the middle of the park and his midfield breaks were a constant threat. Well done to both teams on an excellent game.
