GLASGOW CELTIC CAMP ANNOUNCED FOR EASTER

Strand Celtic are delighted to announce that as part of our club partnership that Galsgow Celtic will be holding a soccer camp from tuesday 6th April to friday 9th April. After last summers successful camp demand will be high so parents are asked to book early so as to avoid disappointment.

The camp will run from 10am to 3pm each day. The cost is €79 for one child and €69 for each subsequent child.

To celebrate the long history and tradition between one of Europe’s leading clubs and the people of Ireland, the Celtic Community Academy is offering young players between 5 and 16 years of age the chance to train and play for a four days this easter with professional coaches from Celtic in selected areas of Ireland. Sligo has a long history and connection with Glasgow Celtic including its founder Brother Walfrid and in more recent times through the former Sligo Rovers manager Willie McStay and has been chosen as one of the venues.

The camp is being held in Sligo at Strandhill Community Park from the 6th April to 9th April 2010. The camp is open to all BOYS and GIRLS between the ages of 5 and 16.

Last summers camp was an outstanding success with the camp full to capacity and some superb coaching at the state of the art facilities in Strandhill, home of Strand Celtic FC.

If you want to put yourself on show to the coaching staff of the best supported club in Ireland, or just want to learn new skills and meet new friends this easter, simply complete the application form and return it to us with your full payment. Applications should be returned as soon as possible, as places on each course are strictly limited.

Application forms are available from Cosgroves Centra in Maugheraboy and Keanes Centra in Strandhill. Forms can also be downloaded from the strand celtic website, who are hosting the camp, at www.strandceltic.com [although please note that this camp is being hosted in strandhill but is available to all children irrespective of their club]. Expert Tuition

Celtic is sending a team of highly-qualified coaches to Ireland to provide a series of four-day coaching courses. Our coaching staff will not only be working on individual skills and tactics during the courses, but they will be sharing the ethos and spirit that make Celtic such a special club.

Vital to any success in football is the quality of coaching, and under the guidance of Head of Youth at Celtic, Chris McCart, we’ve got some of the best in the business.

The Course

The main objective of the courses is to make a difference to young footballers across Sligo. The course will last for four days between 10 am and 3pm and will focus on developing better players through practising skills and techniques, speed and agility exercises, and involvement in small- sided games: all with an emphasis on fun and enjoyment under the watchful eye of the Celtic coaching staff.

Open to all

The key to success of these programmes will be participation. The Celtic Community Academy courses have been specially created for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 16, regardless of ability. Everyone is encouraged to take part and learn about the Celtic style of play and approach to the game.

The Celtic Gift
All participants will get a Celtic Gift, Celtic Certificate get top class coaching from Celtic coaches and also be able to win prizes through daily competitions.
