Sporting Fingal will be searching for their third win in seven days when Dundalk visit Morton Stadium on Friday night in the Airtricity League.
Two wins at Terryland Park against Galway United and Mervue United have put Liam Buckley’s side in good fettle for this important duel against the Lilywhites.
Shaun Maher returns from suspension while Colin Hawkins remains on the comeback trail from his broken ribs and could make next week’s game at UCD.
Buckley said: “The win at Galway was by the narrowest of margins but I felt our attacking play merited more than just the one goal.
“Then, on Tuesday, we got over a possible banana skin in the in the FAI Ford Cup third round replay at Mervue United. The chances were plentiful again. There were good finishes by Shaun Williams Gary O’Neill while Conan Byrne’s later brace wrapped up a good night’s work.”
He said of Dundalk: “I think it’s reasonable to state that Dundalk have suffered on the results front lately primarily due to injury problems.
“Now, with some of their key players returning from the sidelines, we’ll begin to see the the form they displayed earlier in the campaign when they topped the table.
“Through sheer grit and determination, we’ve managed to collect maximum points from Dundalk in our two league games so far, a far cry from the defeats we suffered two years ago against them in the First Division.”
