Sporting Fingal U20s 2-0 Athlone Town Under-20s
Goals by David Gaul and Mark Cashin earned Fingal’s Under-20 team victory over an Athlone Town side that finished with nine men.
In a game where the side managed by Jack McDonagh and coached by Robbie Mohan side had plenty of chances to extend their winning margin, it was Gaul and Cashin who applied the necessary finishes.

The Saints were the brighter side in the opening quarter of an hour with Jack Rossiter’s goal under threat and the goalkeeper was forced to save from a decent free-kick.
Once that pressure subsided, Fingal settled into life and some excellent build up play
from the back yielded chances but not goals.
Twice, Fingal efforts struck the post and the craft of central midfielder Jeremy Cook merited a goal for his efforts.
Overall, the point has to be considered one earned against one of the Dublin rivals away from home.
The side now march onto a game against Longford Town this weekend in upbeat spirits.
