Eugene Mc Darby
R.I.P.
It is with great sadness and grief we regret to announce the passing on of our dear friend and a faithful Club servant
Eugene Mc Darby.
Eugene was a member of Home Farm for forty years and he gave a great deal of his spare time to Club administration. In the earlier years he managed teams of young boys with great enthusiasm and success. He combined that work with the work of the Schoolboy section for more than 15 years and was Treasurer of that section for a number of years. He was elected to the Club Management for 22 years where once again he served with distinction and was elected Club Treasurer in 1977 and continued in that position until his recent serious illness forced him to step down, though with great fortitude and dedication he continued to serve on Management.
For many years Eugene gave his services as bar Manager in the Club in an unpaid capacity. It was in the course of this work we met the Eugene we all know, affable, friendly, kind, always good humoured and considerate which made one of the most popular members of the Club.
