We are delighted that so many children have registered again for soccer this year. So how much does it cost to run a club for the year? Certainly more than we anticipated some years ago!
Last year our costs totalled nearly €18,000 between Insurance, Transport, Gear, Referees, Sligo-Leitrim registration and fundraising expenses.
Luckily our income matched our expenses thanks in no small way to the many fundraising events we had last year - registration fees alone will not cover all the costs. The club could not survive and put on the events we do without the voluntary efforts of the managers and various committees and the parents and friends who support our events.
One of the more enjoyable events recently was the Fun Day in early September - this time however the emphasis was on FUN - there was no admission cost involved or any type of sales on the day. We hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did.
A special mention to the committees of the past few years and Treasurer, Donny Herron, who have ensured that the club is run within its means and on a sound footing. |
