The Holland Easter Cup is regarded as one of Europe's biggest international Easter soccer tournaments. Strand Celtic is invited to participate in the 19th annual edition.

Between 160 and 200 teams from 12 countries are expected in 2010. The tournament is open to all teams that are members of their FIFA affiliated national associations.

The event is an initiative of Expersport together with several soccer clubs from Amsterdam, Haarlem and surroundings and will be played on grass and artificial soccer pitches, spread over different locations.

The Holland Easter Cup is sanctioned by - and will be played according to the regulations of the KNVB (Royal Dutch Soccer Federation) except for cases as mentioned specifically in the tournament regulations. See tournament regulations.

Tournament Format All teams will play a minimum of 6 games spread over Saturday and Sunday. In the first round all teams play in groups of 4 or 5 teams. All teams in 1 group will play each other once on the Saturday.

On Sunday the second round starts. All teams that qualify as number 1 or 2 in the 1st round groups will play in the 2nd round -A-. All other teams from the 1st round will play in the 2nd round -B-. Again all teams are placed in groups and play each other once.

The 2nd round group winners play the (semi-) finals. The tournament organization reserves the right (if needed) to make adjustments to the above mentioned tournament format.

Trophies and Pennants Teams that become number 1 to 4 (in both the A- and B- finals) receive a trophy*. At registration all participants receive a pennant, as a souvenir of the tournament. * Please note this may differ per age category depending on the number of teams inscribed.
